Welder SafetyWelder safety is the first and foremost concern in every welding application. Inhalation hazards for the welder exist in both welding and cutting applications. While semi-automatic or automatic wire welding always remember that Argon based shielding gases should be considered first as higher argon content shielding gases help minimize inhalation hazards. Also the spray transfer mode (defined as metal droplets smaller in diameter than the diameter of the wire) of GMAW solid and metal core tubular wire produces much smaller weld metal droplets transferring across the arc that result in lower inhalation hazards for the welder. Take time to protect yourself head to toe and hand to hand as accidents typically happen without warnings or second chances ! “
